Palm tableware - ecology in practice
Our palm ware is a purely natural ecological product . It is produced from fallen betel areca leaves on areca plantations in India as a "by-product" of betel areca processing. Due to the production of our palm tableware, no new plantations are established and no space is created for the existing ones by clearing the rainforest. And where does our palm ware actually come from? Exclusively from the areas of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu in the south of the peninsula. There, rainforests occur from an altitude of about 1,500 m above sea level, and areca plantations are not naturally planted in such areas. The betel nut loses 4 to 7 leaves per year, and if they were not used for the production of palm ware, they would be left to rot on the ground or be burned. Therefore, they are collected, dried, cleaned and then slightly moistened and molded under high pressure at high temperatures in presses. Thanks to this procedure, the palm tableware is strong, resistant to grease and seepage, and of course suitable for contact with food . Palmware is 100% compostable , exceptional, and each piece is unique with the texture of areca leaves.
